The tournament, referred to as the “Peewee World Championships” is annually attended by more than 2,250 competitors from over 15 countries and is the oldest and most prestigious youth hockey tournament in the world. The Quebec Peewee International Hockey Tournament is the centerpiece of the third largest outdoor festival in the world; the annual Quebec City “Winter Carnival.” The Winter Carnival draws hundreds of thousands of visitors to this winter wonderland and the tournament alone has drawn over 5,000,000 spectators in it’s 65 year history. Proceeds from this historic youth hockey event benefit the “Patron Roc-Amador” youth organization. By “USA Hockey” age classifications, the Quebec Peewee Tournament is a Pee-Wee tournament. For the most part, teams from around the world send only their best, biggest and oldest players that match the birth year limitation of the tournament. Why is this tournament so special? Next year, the 64th edition of the Quebec Peewee Tournament will mark the 64th year that Hershey has been honored with an invitation; the longest consecutive attendance streak of any team or organization in the world! Invitations are extended to youth hockey organizations that have established their strong commitment to the youth of their community and to the highest level of sportsmanship and hockey performance. Canning Trophy for the Eastern Conference championship by defeating Toronto four games to one.OVERTIME OVERLOAD: The last four consecutive playoff games between the Bears and Monsters have been decided in overtime, dating back to Game 3 of the 2016 Calder Cup Finals. The Monsters took both games in Ohio to close out a four-game sweep of that spring's championship round before Hershey opened the current series with back-to-back overtime wins at home, which marked the first time Hershey had played back-to-back playoff overtime games and emerged victorious in both contests since the Bears defeated the Providence Bruins in Games 2 and 3 of the 2017 Atlantic Division Finals. The 2023 NFL Draft begins Thursday, April 27 with the Carolina Panthers set to make the first overall selection after a blockbuster trade with the Chicago Bears. After a disappointing last season which included the firing of head coach Matt Rhule, new hire Frank Reich looks to jumpstart the Panther’s rebuild. With the most logical choice at first overall being quarterback, Reich and the Panthers organization look at the top choices of the draft: Alabama’s Bryce Young, Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud, Kentucky’s Will Levis and Florida’s Anthony Richardson look promising.
