(WYMT) - One Pikeville man won $3,000,000 from the Kentucky Lottery’s $30 Jackpot Scratch-off.The man, who wished to remain anonymous, stopped by the Food City on Cassidy Boulevard in Pikeville for gas before embarking on a long trip.He told officials that he plays the Kentucky Lottery often, usually purchasing $20 and $30 Scratch-offs. “Lots of times I’ve won $100 or $200. I like to take a chance and maybe earn some gas money,” he said.At the gas station, he bought a $30 Kentucky Jackpot Scratch-off.While scratching the ticket, he matched the number 27, which ended up revealing the game’s top prize of $3,000,000.The man was in disbelief after reading the message on the ticket. “You have won two million and forty thousand dollars, you know that sort of thing,” he said.The Pike County man chose the lump sum cash payment of $2,040,000 and received a check of $1,468,800 after taxes.He said he and his family plan to pay off debt with their winnings.Food City will receive $20,400 for selling the winning ticket.Copyright 2025 WYMT.
