I had to change my online banking username and password in response to fraudulent activity. How do I change my banking (checking) username and password within Quicken without losing all historical transaction history? 0 Best Answer John_in_NC Quicken Mac Subscription SuperUser, Mac Beta Beta Howdy to Memphis:Yes, you can update your credentials (password) without losing historical data. But, how you do it depends on how you connect to your bank. (Make a backup of your data file before you make any changes.)If this is a Quicken Connect account, then you can update your password via Window:Account Status, and the option to update your Passwords is accessible via the button at the lower right. If this is a Direct Connect account, then you will have to update it via your Mac's encrypted Keychain. I have used Quicken since 1993 and have relied on it keeping all my account numbers and payment addresses. These are missing from the new Payee list. This information going back 29 years was easy to find in the old versions. Am I missing something? Under what tab or heading should I look to find this information? 0 Answers John_in_NC Quicken Mac Subscription SuperUser, Mac Beta Beta Hi, jongreen:You will have to re-enter this info for the various payees. The converter for 2007 dates back roughly 12 years, and some features were not supported at that time. 0 Thanks John, I can understand that any active program can not support all previous versions and data. But I was using 2017 in Mojave through 2021 and all the data was present. Now I’m in Big Sur and not even the recent account numbers and addresses and memos from 2021 are present. These categories are blank. Any suggestions for a more extensive conversion. Or at very least Quicken should offer a translation program that would at least allow importing all old data into something like excel. That way the data could be totally saved and the required data filled in by hand. Is their any program that you know of that could read the old data? 0 jacobs Quicken Mac Subscription SuperUser, Mac Beta Beta @jongreen I'm confused and need a little more information. You were using Quicken 2007 since 1993 and you were using Quicken 2017 through 2021; were you using both programs at the same time? Have you moved forward to the current Quicken Mac program now? And if so, did you import your data from your Quicken 2017 data or from your Quicken 2007 data? When you were using Quicken 2017, had you imported your data from Quicken 2007? And you're saying that the Payee addresses and your account connectivity imported from Quicken 2007 to Quicken 2017, but not into current Quicken Mac?As John said, there have been no changes to the Quicken Mac importer from Quicken 2007 in many years, so there shouldn't be any difference between what was imported into Quicken 2017 and current Quicken Mac. And if you moved from Quicken 2017 to current Quicken Mac, no data should have been left behind.Sorry to have so many questions, but I'm just trying to understand what you were using and how you moved forward, so we can offer you any possible advice. So I set up a new CC account just called "blank" lets. Say but I only know how to just do a general import, not to an account. 0 jacobs Quicken Mac Subscription SuperUser, Mac Beta Beta @NotACPA Your answer was for Quicken Windows, but I don't believe there is a way to do what you said in Quicken Mac.@James Young Quicken Mac generally does not support imports in QIF format. The developers did build a special case for importing from two competing programs (Mint and Banktivity, I believe), but those imports are only for creating a new data file in Quicken. Quicken Mac does not support importing data for a selected account.I would go back to the Chase website to see if they offer downloads in the format Quicken actually supports: QFX. If so, download a QFX file and you should be able to import it.If Chase does not offer QFX downloads, then the only option I'm aware of is that there are some third-party software developers who sell QIF to QFX data converters. They do this by spoofing the ID of a Quicken-supported financial institution. I can't vouch for their reliability because I have never purchased one. Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19930 Thank you both for you comments. I am checking with Chase to see if if they can send a QFX downloads. Hopefully quicken will build the compatibility. Seems really odd they don't support that format for Mac. 0 jacobs Quicken Mac Subscription SuperUser, Mac Beta Beta I won't go into the long history of QIF and QFX, but I'd just say that I wouldn't expect them to add support for QIF. It's an old file format which had a lot of problems because the data wasn't in consistent format; OFX (and the minor Quicken variation on that, QFX) came about to improve on the failings of QIF.Many, but not all, financial institutions which support Quicken provide QFX downloads. You should be able to log onto their website and see if it's an option in the same place where you found to download the QIF file. Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19930 Thank you for the assistance. I see that quicken import menu provides the option for "mint CSV". Is it possibleQuicken purchase - Quicken for Mac vs Quicken for Windows
To upload a CSV file with credit card transactions? 0 jacobs Quicken Mac Subscription SuperUser, Mac Beta Beta No, sorry, CSV falls into the same situation. The QFX format exists, in part, because financial institutions need to sign up with Quicken -- in some cases because Intuit (who runs the connectivity service) charges a fee, but also so Quicken has access to technical contacts at each financial institution in case there are problems they need to work out. Generic file formats like QIF and CSV don't give them that control (or revenue), and people could cause problems with their data and then lean of Quicken Support to help them out -- so they just don't make it possible to use those file formats.Again, if you Google CSV to QFX converters, you'll find some third-parties selling software to transform your data into a format Quicken will import. It does this, in part, by using the spoofed ID of a supported Quicken financial institution, so obviously it's not sanctioned by Quicken. But it may be a solution to look into. Or you could probably enter your missing two months of transactions manually -- unless you have many hundreds of them -- in less time than it will take to research, buy, install and import with one of these converters.
