Would like to know… (yah, lazy!-) Hi @tracker, Thanks for reaching out. Regarding your concern, you may check this link for the compatibility of those 3rd party integrated channels with Sonos. Let us know how you get on with the advice above. We're here to answer any further questions you have. Hi, @Simon B , Thanks for responding. BUT: (1) The link you provided does not answer the specific question posed: Does “volume control” -- which of course all those devices do! -- extend to “variable line out” on the Port? (2) Also note that the chart in that article does not even list the Senic Nuimo which Sonos sells from the website. (3) Is that why you did not recommend any of those devices in response to @eulerfx asking, “Is there no way to control the volume on my Sonos Port with a hardware remote control?” Let us know how you get on with the implied advice in #2 above. And #1 & #3 above are, in fact, any further questions I have, which you may now answer! Hi @tracker, thanks for the update. Regarding your concerns, on the 1st question. Yes, it does control variable out if it's not on pass-through, ‘Pass-through’ is for use with ‘Works with Sonos’ amps/receivers that are able to register with the Sonos API for external control via the Sonos controller app. The Sonos Port outputs a Fixed stereo signal, and the volume control in the app adjusts the level in the downstream. Can be. In smaller rooms, the distance may be much less than in larger spaces.Seating Arrangement: The location of your seating area in relation to the speakers will also play a vital role. The goal is to create a triangular formation for the best sound dispersion.Acoustic Properties: Walls, windows, and materials can absorb or reflect sound, affecting how audio travels throughout the space.Speaker Type and Configuration: The Sonos One supports stereo pairing and multi-room setups, which will alter optimal distances between speakers.Determining the Distance Between Sonos One SpeakersFinding the right distance for your Sonos One speakers is essential for maximizing sound quality. Depending on your listening preferences and room setup, this distance can vary. Here are some general guidelines:1. Stereo PairingWhen using two Sonos One speakers in a stereo configuration, the ideal distance between them is generally between 4 to 10 feet apart. This distance allows for optimal sound separation and creates an immersive listening experience.4 feet apart: Ideal for smaller rooms, this distance maintains clarity and ensures a cohesive sound stage.10 feet apart: Best for larger areas, this distance enhances audio depth and allows the speakers to fill the room more effectively.2. Multi-Room Audio SetupIn multi-room setups where you have multiple Sonos One speakers placed in different rooms, it is less about the distance between speakers and more about ensuring even sound distribution. Place speakers at least 15 to 20 feet apart in separate rooms. This distance will help reduce sound overlap while maintaining a clear audio experience in each area.Analyzing Your Room DimensionsEvery room is different, and understanding your space is fundamental to setting up Sonos One speakers effectively.1. Small RoomsIn smaller spaces, such as a bedroom or small living room, keeping the speakers closer together—around 4 to 6 feet apart—is often desirable. This proximity ensures that the

Hi all,I'm wrestling with an STP issue on some Cisco switches and I'm hoping for some advice. I have two cascaded switches, and I've configured STP (actually, MST, since that seems to work with the Sonos devices). When I only have players wired to the core switch, things work as expected. However, when I connect a player to the cascaded switch, that player completely loses its connection to the network. I cannot ping it.In both cases, STP looks fine. I can also see the MAC address of the player on the correct port on the cascaded switch. Does anyone have any ideas?Detailed config:-------------------------- Main switch --- !
